KELE Mining Solutions has over 30 years combined mining experience spanning from project management, operations management, and contract mining.

At KELE Mining we acknowledge the risk and costs that mining houses incur to explore, define and create reserves of resources, and therefore create a viable and lucrative business case for their shareholders.

As accompany, we focus on innovative, safe, and cost-effective methods of extracting ore through load & haul, crushing & screening and drill & blast to bring resources to a level where maximum output can be attained.

We provide niche contract mining services and use proprietary mining technology to improve mining safety and productivity. Our aim is to move to fully merchanised, autonomous operations​

Jomo Khomo

Jomo Khomo

Managing Director

Jomo is a holder of a BSc Hon (Chem Eng) (UCT) and an MBA (UCT). He is the founder and Managing Director of KELE Mining Solutions which has subsidiaries ranging from KELE Logistics Solutions, KELE Engineering and KELE Technologies. As an entrepreneur he is involved in several other businesses.

  • Professional career and experience include the following:
    VR Mining Products SA: Director and partner. A subsidiary of Van Reenen Steel which is a global leader and only company in the world that can custom design the loading tool with truck body, achieving maximum productivity in moving earth.
  • Bucyrus Africa: Deputy Managing Director. Sells heavy mining equipment and offers customer services to current clients in the mining industry within the sub- Sahara Africa region.
  • De Beers Group: He worked as a technical assistant to the Director of mining and exploration (COO) His main role was focused on ensuring improved performance on operations, and providing input into future projects, new country access as well as being involved in the capital projects investment portfolio management.

Jomo has also worked as a commercial and technical lead on the turnaround strategic project of loss-making operations within De Beers. His projects experience extends to industries outside mining. He has also worked on projects in other companies outside De Beers in South Africa and internationally.

Tau Tapelo Mojalefa

Tau Tapelo Mojalefa

Head Of Projects

Tau is a holder of National Diploma in Industrial Engineering (UJ) and Program for Management excellence (PME) Certificate – (GIBS) with 4 years’ experience in the logistics and railway industry, maintenance optimisation and cross-border maintenance supervision. He boasts with 10 years of extensive exposure and experience across the mining value chain; primary expertise in business improvement, operational optimisation programming and continuous improvement projects. He is currently Operations Director at KELE Mining Solutions.

Professional career and experience include the following:

  • ABI/Coca Cola: Graduate professional in training
  • Transnet: Junior Engineer- Productivity improvement initiatives, Junior Engineer-Maintenance depots optimization projects and Junior Engineer- Supervision of Maintenance teams in other African countries
  • AngloAmerican Kumba Iron Ore: Senior Industrial Engineer- Plant support and optimization; Continuous Improvement Programme Lead – Plant, mining and engineering division; Senior Business Improvement Specialist – MEGA mine transformation project; and Senior Specialist – AOM (Anglo operating Model) implementation

Kefilwe Delicia Khomo

Head Of Corporate Affairs

Kefilwe studied for Chemical Engineering (UJ). She studied Electrical Engineering in the Northern Cape FET College in 2003. She then joined Assmang Black Rock in the Northern Cape as an electrician apprentice. In 2010 she went back to university to complete her Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Economics (UP). She completed her degree in 2014 before joining Busy Bee Daycare as a bookkeeping. She then ventured into business and joined KELE Mining Solutions, where she is a Governance Director working primarily on governance, risk and compliance management and payroll.
